"I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it."
The Color Purple by Alice Walker
I was born and raised in Edmonton and the best way to keep me quiet was to put in front of me a pad of paper and a pencil. In 1989 my husband, boys and I moved to Skeleton lake where we live today.
Watercolour is my favourite medium but art is a journey and there is much to learn.
As much as I enjoy the broad landscape, I am seduced by the small mushroom growing under a fallen log, a group of leaves catching the sun and flowers - I do love flowers! I like to zoom in on what is often overlooked and I am sure there are fairies lurking....just over there..... For me, painting is more than a deep love, it is a responsibility and an obligation. I feel it is my job to point out "the color purple".
I hope you will enjoy my world.
